"Similarity is just as abstract a quality as identity."
something i came across as i was doing my readings last sem.
well.. perhaps im only speaking for myself but i reckon that unless you are one who is absolutely sure of your identity, who you are, where you stand, the role/roles that you are supposed to play.. your identity, the "I" and not only the "me"is an abstract entity. having said that, there are so many roles that we play, so many facades and selves we put up in front of different people that i wonder if we ourselves, know who we are. and i wonder if there is an inherent self, a 'base' self underneath all the extra baggage that ceases to change.
i mean, 'people change' right? so there should be a logic as to why 'people change' exists. i know it's cheesy but do we ever stay true to ourselves? i wonder why people have to conform and change to "make themsleves fit into the in-group". because no one wants to be in the "out-group"? so where do concepts like the "in-group" and "out-group" come from then? is it not us? it's like going full circle man. sooooo.. we have unwittingly made ourselves unable to stay true to ourselves eh? coz seriously, if you tell me that no, you havent conformed, havent change any part of you be it your speech, your actions, the way you dress, to fit into an "in-group" of sorts, or even "out-group" for that matter, i'd say it's all bull man.
oooooooooooooook. haha. so, SCHOOL SUCKS. when since did it not suck?
anyway, dug out my mum's old SLR and have been playing around with it. a Nikon FG 20. my 1st roll of film was a disaster. or perhaps i was expecting too much of myself la. hahaha cant hurt to have high expectations la. and then my bro and i purchased a Holga 120 with fisheye lenses and a 35mm adapter. yeah man cant wait to experiment! slide film in my (ok, my mum's) FG 20, and the Holga, i cant wait!
cross processed pictures! hehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
